Nalini Jamunkar is from a village bordering Wardha district. She says that the opportunity of working with rural women could make her understand, the problems and sorrows of rural people. That she could help in solving these problems made her Confident Field Person.
A 10th pass out, Nalini interacts with various Government officials, Bank officials, District Development Officers, Police officials to solve various problems of village areas. A fiery personality she today is in regular interaction with about 1,500 women in 25 villages and sees to it that they speak up for themselves. Women also include the most vulnerable sections like widows, deserted women and Muslim women. At 58, she is more interested in organizing rural women to be individually and socially relevant, through meaningful development work.
